The reason why I chose Michael Phelps as my topic for my satire was that he is an amazing swimmer who also has a lot of controversy around him about the way he swims. People who don't understand what a satire is will be the ones who get offended the most or if they are a fan of Phelps. The point I am trying to prove about Phelps is that he is a great swimmer because he practices to get better but everyone thinks when you are good at something you have to take drugs and that is not the case. He was caught smoking pot and had to be tested in order to compete. In my satire I used onomatopoeia and hyperbole. My overall satire was really a hyperbole and the onomatopoeia that was used was the word splash. The reason why this is actually a serious issues is really about how much people believe everything they read or what the media portrays. There is a difference between telling the truth and over exaggerating it.
